The Charities lifeboat crew will be joined by Stormy Stan, their kid friendly sea safety mascot. Throughout the day there will be live rescue demonstrations for all the family to see close up.
Entry to the day is entirely free, look out for our flyers advertising the day, our friends at Pizza Express have kindly offered a free portion of dough balls for every flyer taken to their restaurant in Brighton Marina.
Volunteer crew of one of the largest boats in the RNLI fleet, the Severn class, will be visiting from Newhaven and eager to to show visitors around.
Solent Coastguards rescue helicopter call sign 'Rescue 104' will be visiting at 14:00hrs to join a joint search and rescue demonstration with Brighton and Newhaven Lifeboats.
Your local sea safety and RNLI Education teams will be on hand to help and advise on staying safe whether you are a family on the beach, single handed sailor or an ocean racing crew. Fantastic prizes are up for grabs for winners of our beach safety and crew kit challenge competitions.
Mark Bell, Brighton lifeboat spokesperson said: "It's a great day out for all the family. Much of our work is carried out at night or far offshore so it's a really good opportunity for us to thank those who support us and for the public to see the boats and our rescue equipment close up.
"The crew kit challenge is always a favourite, our crew put all the personal safety kit in around 60 seconds, it's great to see kids and adults alike rushing to try it all on!".
The stunningly accurate model lifeboats from the Lifeboat Enthusiast Society will also be present in force, exhibiting the latest scale models from their own fleet.
